Chief of Grid

As Chief of Grid, you are responsible for laying out the pre-grid and grid areas, for assigning grid positions, and for managing the flow of vehicles from grid to staging and from course exit back to grid. The Chief of T&S will print out a grid sheet that will compute the grid positions on Saturday morning. You will post a sign in the pre-grid area indicating the assigned grid positions to assist drivers in gridding their own cars. Be sure to have an adequate number of people assigned to grid to accomplish your tasks. Typically, this requires two (2) to four (4) people per heat, depending on the size and shape of the site layout.

Two driver cars will line-up in numerical order with the smallest number running first. The first driver will return to the original position, change drivers and the second driver runs in the proper numerical order.
